MAY MADNESS (7th May 2010)

Rudi Lickwood

Rudi Lickwood

As the top black comedian on the UK comedy circuit, Rudi Lickwood is far more than just a stand-up. Awarded status in the 'Black 100+' awards for the greatest Black British Achievers, Rudi's inclusion offered great acknowledgement for years of work challenging the way black communities are viewed from within and by others. Using his sense of humour and razor sharp material, Rudi has built an outstanding list of Radio and Television projects in 2007 and 2008. With a super confident playful personality and oozing charisma, his infectious charm has made him a desirable commodity; Upcoming television and media projects for 07/08 include; Funny Business - Rudi judges new comedy talent in a 4 part series (BBC1wales Jan/Feb 08), Get me the Producer (Ch4-Nov 07), plus a nationwide project with Mediatheme hosting the most comprehensive comedy entertainment system to date. Also working closely with the Combined Forces Entertainment (CSE) Rudi has toured in Afghanistan, Iraq and Bosnia, keeping the troops entertained all over the world. Recognition of his achievements came in 2004 as Rudi received the prestigious honour of the BECA comedy award for outstanding contribution to comedy.

Rob Brown

Rob Brown

After hitting the stage for the first time in 2003, Rob Brown has become one of Australia’s leading stand-up comedians. From the moment Rob takes the stage, he can capture a room and entertain audiences with his clever and funny stories and observations in a style that is truly his own.

Rob Brown’s comedy has an edge to it – a familiarity that we can all recognise in ourselves, our partners, children, workmates and the person who has 9 items in the 8 items or less lane, you’ll know them all!

Paul Dennis

Paul Dennis

Paul has one of, if not THE best comedy songs on the circuit. A real showstopper that would not look out of place in a Stephen Lynch or Mitch Benn set. Nice bloke too. He is also supposed to be eye candy for the ladies....but no pictures are available - so you'll have to wait and see....

Craig Murray

Craig Murray

Hailing from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire (a town otherwise famous for international terrorists, fake kidnaps and 'Britain's Best Market') charming northerner Craig is a talented and driven newcomer to the circuit, undoubtedly destined for greatness. For the past three years Craig has cut his comedy teeth as resident compere at award-winning London club 'The Funny Side...of Covent Garden' sharing a stage with some of the very best comedy acts in the business including Harry Hill, Stewart Lee and even Hollywood legend Robin Williams.

He has rapidly become a master of the compere's art too; able to turn any crowd from a lacklustre mob into a clapping, cheering, delirious audience ready to laugh all night.

Having honed his talents as an MC introducing others, he's now bringing his impressive stage presence and flair for audience banter to his very own stand-up set. An instant crowd pleaser, Murray's charismatic, mock-confrontational style makes him popular with audiences wherever he gigs. Craig is also an accomplished actor and presenter and graduate of The Court Theatre Training Company.

In addition to gigging around the country, last year he appeared in the critically acclaimed comedy play ‘Umbrage Swain and the Magical Diamond of Ramtutiti’ and compered a number of ‘Spank’ shows at The Edinburgh Festival. He recently starred a comedy film alongside Adam Hills and Brendon Burns and recorded a comedy pilot with the BBC.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of this business it is very hard to name the exact comedians that will be attending each night. In the event that we do so, this is subject to change. Seats are on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
